Kiedan was born in Leeds and attended Mount St Mary's High School before going on to study at Leeds City College.  His community club was East Leeds where he won all four amateur competitions in 2012. He has also won the Leeds and District Cup three times, the BARLA Cup and the Yorkshire League.

In 2015 he played for England Youth, which he says is his most memorable rugby moment to date.  The player he most admires is Zak Hardaker and as well as supporting the Rhinos he also follows Leeds United.  His ideal occupation away from rugby would be a fitness instructor

He comes from a sporting family and his dad is a former rugby player and his cousin Zach Freer in on the Wigan Scholarship programme.
