Getting to know: Wakefield Trinity
The next stage of the Betfred Challenge Cup sees Wakefield Trinity and Leeds Rhinos meet at the DIY Kitchens Stadium this Friday night as both teams look to book a quarter final spot, kick off 8pm.
Here's a look closer look at Trinity:
Notable names

Jack Sinfield
A couple of positive displays in Wakefield colours recently has hinted at Jack Sinfield joining Jake Trueman as Trinity's permanent scrum half, as the former Leeds product is beginning to shine at his new club.
Leaving Leeds in the off-season in search for more gametime, Sinfield has pushed his way up the pecking order ahead of Mason Lino (who's been sidelined with a hamstring injury) and produced two try assists on his way to two man of the match awards for Daryl Powell's side and two wins. Now he comes up against his former club for the first time competitively, after running out on Boxing Day in an 18-10 defeat to the Rhinos.
Cameron Scott
Trinity's top try scorer this campaign has four in all competitions as Scott makes his best scoring start to a league campaign since debuting in 2018.
The former Hull FC player was one of the experienced names signed after Wakefield's promotion campaign in 2024, having scored 15 tries in 73 games between 2018 and 2024 at the MKM Stadium. Now at Trinity, he was a consistent name in the starting lineup in his debut season - making 18 starts and scoring eight tries - and so far this season, he has combined well with Oliver Pratt or Josh Rourke on the right edge.
Caius Faatili
A wrecking ball of a prop forward, Faatili hopes to get back up to top gear after making his return to action against Hull FC a week ago.
The prop had an outstanding first season at Belle Vue with eight tries in 28 games, but injury has hampered his start to a second season in Trinity colours. He was one of the substitutes in Wakefield's 80-point annihilation of Swinton in round three, and will have eyes on a first try of the new season in front of a home crowd.
Tyson Smoothy
A coup signing from the reigning NRL champions, Smoothy is hoping to be back in contention this week after missing the Hull FC victory.
Wakefield's new number nine is one of the most exciting prospects in the competition this year, and that's before he has formed solid combinations with his half backs and full back Jowitt. He was a try scorer on his Trinity debut in round three of the Cup campaign, but his first experience of a Challenge Cup tie comes this week in the shape of Yorkshire rivals Leeds.

Leeds vs Wakefield in the Cup
Only Bradford have faced Wakefield more than Leeds since the Challenge Cup first started in 1897, as Trinity look for only their sixth ever Cup win over the Loiners.
First meeting in 1903, a confident 13-0 win for Leeds has contributed to a wider 15 wins over the last 123 years. Friday night's visitors went on to lose consecutive meetings in the 1912, 1914, 1924, 1937 and 1942, but responded with a current win streak of 14 games dating back to 1943. A convincing 60-6 triumph in the clubs' most recent Cup meeting in 2014 continued that run, which the Rhinos can add to in 2026.
