Getting to know: Hull FC

Round five of the Betfred Super League pits Leeds Rhinos up against Hull FC at the MKM Stadium as both sides look to get wins following the Cup weekend.

Whilst the Rhinos have been one of the quick starters this season, Hull's struggles with injury have seen the Black and Whites make a slow start as they come into Sunday with one win in four games.

Here's a look closer look at the Airlie Birds:

Davy Litten

Club Apps: 56 | Club Tries: 17

Brother of Jez Litten on the red side of Hull, outside back Davy Litten has carved his place in Hull's starting squad as a beneficiary of John Cartwright's system.

Two years after breaking through Hull's youth ranks, he earned a contract extension in 2025 as he featured 23 times and scored eight tries as part of a dynamic partnership with the free-scoring Lewis Martin. This year has seen the Cottingham Tigers junior feature in all six of Hull's games across the Super League and Challenge Cup competitions, and despite results he has five tries to his name - including a hat trick against Salford in a 60-0 triumph in the Cup.

Litten's impact is evident further as he leads the club's attacking stats, including ball carries, metres made, tackle breaks and line breaks. His 42 combined tackle breaks across the league and cup is the most by any player in 2026, and he is in the top ten players for carries and metres amongst Super League players only.

Lewis Martin

Club Apps: 61 | Club Tries: 45

Although he might be behind on where he was during his 32-try campaign in 2025, Lewis Martin remains a key threat for the Black and Whites ahead of the Rhinos' visit in round five.

Hull's 2026 leading try scorer has three tries in five games against the Rhinos dating back to 2024's 18-12 defeat, when Leeds' young winger Riley Lumb was the star on debut. Martin retaliated with a try in a 18-10 win for Hull two months later and was on the scoreboard at AMT Headingley in last year's modern classic. Hoping to add a try this weekend, he got his first points of the new season in round three in a home defeat to York, but replied with two scores against Wakefield in round four.

No Hull player has more line breaks in the league this season, plus he joins centre partner Litten at the top of the club's runs and metres charts.

Sam Lisone

Club Apps: 6

Sunday will be the first time that Lisone has faced his former club since making the move to join Cartwright's cause on a two-year deal.

The power prop has taken his experience as an impact substitute to the Black and Whites as all six of his games have come off the bench so far in 2026. Behind Martin, Lisone has the second most line breaks by a Hull player in Super League this season and is also in the club's top five attacking players for runs, metres, line engaged runs and tackle breaks. With Ese'ese still sidelined and Ligi Sao making his return from injury, Lisone's an important of Hull's plans as they look to get back to winning ways this weekend.

John Asiata

Club Apps: 20 | Club Tries: 1

Hoping to provide a full season impact after missing the end of 2025 through injury, Asiata is a key piece of Hull's spine.

After being recruited from Leigh, where he was a talisman in the forward pack as the club became regulars in the play offs and Challenge Cup winners, the former North Queensland and Brisbane player made the switch to join Cartwright and the Hull project as they looked to turn the club's fortunes around. With Asiata in the lineup, Hull won 10 and lost six matches last season before injury ruled the Samoan international out of the run-in, but he comes back into squad contention at a fortuitous time as the club look to get back in the winners circle.
