Leeds Rhinos Greatest Super League games 40-31

On Sunday 29th March, Leeds Rhinos will host Warrington Wolves at AMT Headingley on a special occasion for the Super League competition. The game will mark 30 years to the day since the first Super League game between Paris and Sheffield, with Leeds and Warrington having met on that inaugural weekend back in 1996.

To mark the occasion, the Rhinos have unveiled a new look heritage shirt and there will be a great retro feel around the gameday and build up. To celebrate the last three decades we are counting down Leeds' top 100 Super League games including play offs, Super 8s and Grand Finals.

Every day we will be revealing another ten games building up to Friday 27th March when the top ten will be announced.

Book your ticket now for our clash with Warrington Wolves now at tickets.therhinos.co.uk

Leeds Rhinos Greatest Games 40-31

40. St Helens v Leeds Rhinos Play Offs 2005

Leeds Rhinos win an epic battle in the wet at Knowsley Road despite Jamie Lyon inspiring a fightback from the homeside in the final 10 minutes.

39. Catalans Dragons v Leeds Rhinos 2017

A late try from Danny McGuire and a top class performance from Liam Sutcliffe on his 100th appearance for the Rhinos helped secure a memorable win for Leeds in Perpignan.

38. Leeds Rhinos v St Helens Grand Final Eliminator 1998

Leeds Rhinos took on St Helens with a place in the inaugural Grand Final at stake back in 1998.

37. Leeds Rhinos v St Helens 1997

Leeds Rhinos take on inaugural Super League Champions St Helens at Headingley with newly signed Iestyn Harris leading the way for Dean Bell’s side.

36. Bradford Bulls v Leeds Rhinos 2000

On an eleven match winning run since they lost 44-2 to the Bulls earlier in the season, Dean Lance’s Rhinos side edged local rivals Bradford at Odsal 28-26 thanks to tries from Francis Cummins, Adrian Morley and two from Keith Senior.

35. Leeds Rhinos v Wigan Warriors 2014

Leeds produced their best performance of the season as they defeated Wigan with Zak Hardaker producing a man of the match winning performance.

34. Bradford Bulls v Leeds Rhinos 2005

Leeds Rhinos produced an awesome showing at Odsal, destroying their local rivals by 7 tries to 2 and clocking up the Bulls heaviest defeat at Odsal in the summer era.

33. St Helens v Leeds Rhinos 2008

In a Grand Final rematch of the previous year, Leeds travelled to face St Helens at Knowsley road looking to continue their reign at the top of the table.

As they did at Old Trafford back in October, Leeds Rhinos won this Grand Final re-match at Knowsley Road but this was a much tighter affair than the title decider. Leeds were grateful to a great place kicking display by captain Kevin Sinfield along with a try in each half for Ali Lauitiiti and Luke Burgess to six point gap on St Helens.

32. Wakefield Trinity Wildcats v Leeds Rhinos 2009

A late Scott Donald try sealed a remarkable fight back from Leeds Rhinos at Belle Vue.

31. Huddersfield Giants v Leeds Rhinos Play Offs 2011

Leeds Rhinos faced a tricky second game in the play offs in 2011 having finished in fifth place in the regular season. Having defeated Hull in the first game they travelled to fourth placed Huddersfield in an elimination game.

A hat trick from Zak Hardaker helped propel Leeds Rhinos in to a Play Off Semi Final as Brian McDermott's side defeated the Giants.
