Getting to know: Wakefield Trinity
After defeating Leeds earlier in the year to book a Challenge Cup quarter final spot, Wakefield Trinity arrive at AMT Headingley on Friday night looking to get back level with Brad Arthur's side at the top of the league standings after losing out to St Helens in round nine, kick off 8pm.
Here's a look closer look at Trinity:
Key Playmakers
Jack Sinfield
A couple of positive displays in Wakefield colours has hinted at Jack Sinfield joining Jake Trueman as Trinity's permanent scrum half, as the former Leeds product is beginning to shine at his new club.
Leaving Leeds in the off-season in search for more gametime, Sinfield has pushed his way up the pecking order ahead of Mason Lino (who's been sidelined with a hamstring injury) and produced two try assists on his way to two man of the match awards for Daryl Powell's side and two wins. Now he comes up against his former club for the first time competitively, after running out on Boxing Day in an 18-10 defeat to the Rhinos.
Cameron Scott
Trinity's top try scorer this campaign has four in all competitions as Scott makes his best scoring start to a league campaign since debuting in 2018.
The former Hull FC player was one of the experienced names signed after Wakefield's promotion campaign in 2024, having scored 15 tries in 73 games between 2018 and 2024 at the MKM Stadium. Now at Trinity, he was a consistent name in the starting lineup in his debut season - making 18 starts and scoring eight tries - and so far this season, he has combined well with Oliver Pratt or Josh Rourke on the right edge.
Caius Faatili
A wrecking ball of a prop forward, Faatili hopes to get back up to top gear after making his return to action against Hull FC a week ago.
The prop had an outstanding first season at Belle Vue with eight tries in 28 games, but injury has hampered his start to a second season in Trinity colours. He was one of the substitutes in Wakefield's 80-point annihilation of Swinton in round three, and will have eyes on a try after scoring last time out against Saints.
Tyson Smoothy
A coup signing from the reigning NRL champions, Smoothy is hoping to be back in contention this week after missing the Hull FC victory.
Wakefield's new number nine is one of the most exciting prospects in the competition this year, and that's before he has formed solid combinations with his half backs and full back Jowitt. He was a try scorer on his Trinity debut in round three of the Cup campaign, and has since scored his first league try as he takes on Leeds for the first time in his career.
