Leeds Building Society team up with Rhinos to support Barnardo's once again

Barnardo’s will once again take centre stage at AMT Headingley as Leeds Rhinos host St Helens in a special charity takeover fixture on Thursday 4th June 2026, supported by long-standing partners Leeds Building Society.

Following the success of last season’s charity takeover game, the Rhinos and Leeds Building Society are once again joining forces with Barnardo’s to raise awareness and vital funds to support young people leaving the care system.

As part of the takeover fixture, Leeds Building Society will donate its usual matchday advertising inventory and shirt sponsorship to Barnardo’s, helping to shine a spotlight on the charity’s work in front of thousands of supporters at AMT Headingley and those watching at home.

Tickets for the game will also be donated to children, young people and families supported by Barnardo’s across Yorkshire, giving them the opportunity to experience the excitement of a live Super League fixture as Leeds Rhinos take on rivals St Helens under the Thursday night lights.

Supporters will also have the chance to bid on limited-edition Barnardo’s-branded shirts worn by the Leeds Rhinos players during the game, with all proceeds going directly towards Barnardo’s services supporting vulnerable children and young people.

The partnership between Barnardo’s and Leeds Building Society aims to raise awareness of the challenges faced by young people leaving care. Young care leavers are significantly more likely to face homelessness, unemployment and poor mental health compared to their peers, often without the support networks many young people rely on as they transition into adulthood.

Together, Barnardo’s and Leeds Building Society are continuing to campaign for improved support for care-experienced young people, including better access to housing support, rent guarantors and free transport to help young people build stable, independent futures.

Leeds Building Society have pledged to contribute a minimum of £300,000 to Barnardo’s over three years to support Barnardo’s work helping young people across the UK.
