Rhinos back new Checkatrade Games taking place in Leeds
Leeds Rhinos are backing the Checkatrade Games, a pioneering high-energy competition and networking hub designed to celebrate emerging talent, bridge the UK skills gap, and create meaningful connections across the trades industry.
As the first event, taking place on Friday 24th July from 9am until 3.30pm at Leeds College of Building, this pilot sets the stage for what could become a defining celebration of the trades community.
Compete — Apprentices and trade students can register to take part in the Checkatrade Games and showcase their skills on a national stage. Registration is open now at games.checkatrade.com. Showcase your technical skills in Electrics, Plumbing, or Painting & Decorating. Compete for cash prizes, gain direct access to top trade businesses actively hiring, and launch your career with real industry exposure and connections.
Attend — Not competing? Anyone can register for tickets to come along and support. Tickets are free/available at games.checkatrade.com
Checkatrade and Leeds Rhinos recently hosted a Skills Summit at AMT Headingley Stadium to tackle one of the country's most urgent challenges: the million 16–24 year-olds that are not in education, employment or training (NEET).
Coinciding with Youth Employment Week, the Summit convened national and local leaders, policymakers, industry and young people at the iconic venue to explore real solutions, putting a spotlight on NEETs and youth unemployment in the North and across the UK.
