Leeds Rhinos sign Rogers-Smith for 2027
Leeds Rhinos have continued their recruitment for the 2027 Betfred Super League season with the signing of Catalans Dragons forward Edenn Rogers-Smith.
Rogers-Smith, 27, will provide further competition in the Rhinos' forward pack after making his Super League breakthrough with Catalans this season. He has agreed a two year contract with the Rhinos until the end of the 2028 Super League season.
The Australian back-rower was developed through the Sydney Roosters system. He subsequently gained experience in the NSW Cup with Western Suburbs Magpies and North Sydney Bears before moving to France.
Rogers-Smith spent two seasons with Carcassonne in the French domestic competition before joining Catalans during the 2026 campaign. He has since made his Super League debut and scored his first Super League try against Hull FC recently.
He said: “I am excited about the opportunity to join Leeds Rhinos. I have enjoyed my time in France and joining Catalans gave me the chance to test myself in Super League, and this move is another big step in my career.
“Leeds is a club with an incredible history and I know how passionate the supporters are. I am looking forward to getting to AMT Headingley and being part of that environment.
“I want to keep improving as a player, work hard for the team and make the most of the opportunity. I am really grateful to Leeds for believing in me and I can't wait for 2027.”
Leeds Rhinos Head Coach Brad Arthur welcomed the arrival of Rogers-Smith. “We are really pleased to have Edenn joining us for 2027.
“Edenn is still developing his Super League career, but there are some really good attributes there. He is a big, mobile forward who can give us some real physicality and he has a lot of room to continue developing.
“He is hungry and motivated, which is important to us. We are looking forward to working with him and helping him become an even better player.”
Sporting Director Ian Blease added, “Edenn is an exciting player who we believe has significant potential. He has worked hard to get his opportunity in Super League after playing in the French competition and we have seen enough of him to believe there is much more to come.”
Rogers-Smith will link up with the Rhinos ahead of the 2027 Betfred Super League season. Leeds have already announced the return of Morgan Gannon to the club from New Zealand Warriors for 2027 plus the arrival of Dylan Walker from Parramatta Eels.
