Coming from local club East Leeds, Leroy Rivett signed his first professional rugby contract with the Rhinos in 1996. Despite featuring 28 times over three years, 1999 would be Rivett's breakout year under Graham Murray. He didn't miss a game, scoring 19 tries, four of which came in the Challenge Cup final win against London Broncos, which saw the winger awarded the Lance Todd trophy.
He left the club mid-way through the 2000 season to join Huddersfield-Sheffield Giants, where he remained for the rest of the campaign; the club finishing bottom of the table for a third successive season. After a stint at Warrington, Rivett spent two seasons at Hull KR, where he made regular appearances for the 2005 and 2006 seasons. A National League Grand Final winner, along with 23 starts and nine tries for the season, Rivett was later released from the Robins on their arrival in Super League, the winger later signing for Leigh.
