Debut: Vs Bradford Bulls (H) 23/04/2023
Honours -
Mayzi Carter made the step up from the Rhinos Academy to the first team ahead of the 2023 season.
The back rower was given her debut by head coach Lois Forsell in the Challenge Cup against Bradford and she went on to appear twice more in the competition against Huddersfield Giants and Leigh Leopards in the quarter finals. Her sole try of the year came against the Leopards at Headingley but injury ruled her out for the remainder of the Women's Super League season. She also featured for the Academy throughout 2023 too, playing four times and scoring three tries.
Although she didn't make a senior appearance in 2024, Carter did make a recovery from injury and featured twice for the Under-19s Academy in games against Featherstone and York.
Carter switched from watching the sport on TV to playing with Shaw Cross Sharks, where she made her debut in the Heavy Wollen Cup competition. She helped the club lift the trophy and the league title in the same season before joining the Rhinos Under-19s at the age of 16. Particularly in 2022, she scored five tries in four games under Matty Bullough, before stepping up to the first team in 2023.
Internationally, Carter is part of England's Diploma in Sport Excellence (DiSE) programme.
Away from rugby, Mayzi is currently studying sport, health and social and criminology at Ossett Sixth Form.
