Debut:

Dewsbury Moor junior Joe Diskin first joined the Rhinos back in 2022, and has progressed through the club's Academy to be on the brink of the first team.

As one of 19 players to join the club's Scholarship programme for the 2022 season, Diskin made a try-scoring first appearance for the Under-16s off the bench in a 60-0 win against Bradford Bulls before going on to play ten times over two seasons for the Scholarship. His second season saw Diskin score six tries in five games, including a hat-trick in another high-scoring win over the Bulls,  as he was included in a 15-player cohort that moved into the Academy for 2024.

Despite a tough first season in the Under-18s, Diskin featured at both full back and hooker before finishing his role in dummy half. In total, he played nine times and scored five tries, plus he also added four games for the Reserves to gain additional minutes. A year later, he helped both the Under-18s and Reserves to their respective Grand Finals, despite ultimately missing both season finales through injury. He played eight times and scored seven tries for the Academy as they achieved their best finish to a season since 2022, and also added five tries in nine games for the Reserves.

Alongside training with the first team during the 2026 season, he was the Reserves’ first-choice hooker with 12 appearances over the course of the season. He also scored nine tries (four of which came against Leigh in a 94-0 win) until Injury ended Diskin’s campaign early once again.
